The Wii invasion.

Invasion of the Wii has struck our home. It is a lot of fun but it is even more fun to watch my children play it..hhaha. And for all those curious Caitty does know when she isn't one of those little blobs. They are playing golf.

Today 12-30-08

So yesterday we went to Riverton to travel to the Wal-Mart. It was a lovely 55 degrees in Riverton. Any way today it was almost as nice, yes the snow is melting. It was in the thirty's so we released Caitty from house arrest. She took the "crew" with her. For those who don't know the "crew" they consist of two Donald Ducks, two Backyardagains, and two Pooh Bears. Yes it is a little like Noah's ark. Any way the Crew all got to see snow for the first time this year. They all got to individually touch the snow and say "ow". They also got to sit in and on the dog house. What a lucky crew.

Snow

Well the Friday after Christmas we got a massive storm. It snowed quite a few inches but the worst part was the wind. It was a constant 30 mph with gust up to 50. So the next day it wasn't to bad. Cold but not windy so I let Caitty out. She had fun finding out that the snow was up to her knees. She also liked watching the back hoe clear out the church parking lot. Needless to say it was still only 16 degrees so Caitty only lasted a hour... :) I had to drag her in.

Christmas 2008

This year was a lot better then last, with the fact that I didn't put out all the gifts and tell Caitty no all the time so she got into unwrapping a lot faster then last. Kaci woke up at 6 this morning and then Caitty woke up at 7:30. So Kaci got to eat and then look into her stocking before Caitty. Which I don't think Caitty cared. We did have to stop and read every book that Caitty got today before opening another gift and of course check out the toys and take the clothing out of the box. The part that did bug her was that Kaci got a pooh stuffed animal from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Netty that she still doesn't really like Kaci to have but I think she is giving up on it now that it smells like formula. Kaci likes to chew on his arm full of mail. And Kaci loved the pink cat that she got from Pappa and Grandma Walk. But thank you to all the Santa's, and grandparents the girls have liked every gift!!! And thank you from Joel and Dani. We love and miss you all.

Christmas Eve 2008

Joel had to work Christmas Eve but me and the girls had some good times. We played with balloons and colored for most of the day.Poor Caitty, the air is so dry she has really bad static electricity at the moment. Every balloon would just get stuck in her hair and she really didn't like that at all. And then that night we read twas a night before Christmas and then the "bear" read it to us too. And of course the animals had to drive to hear the story.

Kaci

Well Kaci continues to grow up way to fast for me. She is a cutie and her new thing now is she can move. Not very fast but she can army crawl. She gets really mad though if she is stuck on her tummy to long. She hasn't figure out the whole how to roll back but hopeful she will get there. Any way she is getting better at playing with toys and Caitty is learning quickly that the toys she doesn't want Kaci to touch she keeps a little farther away from her. This is my favorite picture of her so far. Although Brandon got some good ones.

Painting Decorations.

Well We decided to start a new tradition with Caitty this year and it is to buy little clay decorations and to let her paint them and put them on the tree. She really like the painting part and now she has decided to add her own "decorations" to the tree. They don't stay there to long because then they all have some thing else to go do with Caitty but there are two backyardagins and two Donald ducks and two pooh bears that hang out there for a while.

Clips from New York

Aunt Jenny is so crafty, she made this cute little hair clips. Caitty loves them all.....and she thinks she needs to wear them all at once. Which I guess is okay but I am hoping to make it so that she will wear one at a time.

Flying Caitty Airlines

With all the bad weather you hear about the plane delays. Just be grateful you aren't flying this way. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to be sitting on some one else lap basically? But Caitty is one of those who believes in "no crayon" left behind. And amazingly they all came out.

Getting ready for Church.

Our house is a little crazy when Sunday comes around. Church is at 9:30 so we really have to work to get every one ready. These are the dresses that we had the girls pictures taken in. Daddy separated Caitty from the acid filled little sister :) !

The Holiday Rush.

Well there are very few things in this world that just wear me out. One is going and getting the girls Christmas photos done. Poor Brandon it is a good thing that he has lots of patience! My girls were crazy and cranky half way through it. They did really well individually but not so hot together. Today Caitty had the whole Kaci has the "plague" idea. She can't be in a three mile radius. So of course the day you go to get pictures done Caitty is doing every thing that she wants and acting like her sister is made of acid and if they touch she will DIE. Any way I guess that is how life goes though some times. To look at the pictures go to www.yulephoto.com and look under gallery for Walk Christmas.

The other thing that wears me out is making Christmas goodies. You have to be quick around here or Caitty will eat all the cookie dough both in the container and on the tray. But if you think that once the Cookie is cooked you are in big trouble. She waits behind you as you pull them out and will take then right off the tray. One for her and one for the dog. Needless to say you make a lot of cookies and Caitty ends up not getting sick. But the dog ends up gaining a lot of weight. The poor fatty.

Well Joel and I had decided earlier this year that there was this family in the ward that might need a little extra help with "Santa". Cause we all know that some times Santa needs a few good elves. :) . Any way we had decided to take some stuff to them tonight and leave a little note saying that Santa's slay was full and that he needed a little extra room and that they couldn't open the gifts until Christmas morning. Well Joel's knee has been giving him some problems with the cold weather and he was the elf that got drafted into doing the door bell ditch. Poor guy was running like his life depended on it. Even though the side walks are pretty bad around here he managed to make it back to the truck laughing the whole way. I don't think I have ever seen some one try to run really fast while looking at his feet (try to imagine a speed walker and that is pretty close to what it looked like). It made the hectic picture taking session earlier that night worth it.

After that we took the last batch of goodies to our friends in their new home. Well Joel and me were looking around the house when the friends little chihuahua, otherwise known as a small rat, bit Joel on the back of the calf. It was so funny because none of us knew that the little thing was hiding behind the door. For some reason that little rat hates Joel with all three of its remaining life's. Well just in case any one of you was worried about Joel, the dog didn't draw blood but it gave him a good bruise, a small bruise the size of a chihuahua's mouth.

Any way we hope every one is ready for Christmas and not feeling to rushed or running around to much. Hope that every one has a wonderful Christmas and great new year.

Coolest place in Casper

So when we went to Casper I wasn't all that impressed with it. I did think it would be a little worse just from what others have told me, in truth I am sure that there are those really bad places but luckily Joel had gone before us so we knew were to go. Any way when we got there we decided that we wanted to go out and eat some were other then the golden arches. yuck. So we went to On the Borders. Well right next to it was this amazing little hamburger joint. It had all sorts of cool old cars coming out to of the building and Jaws hanging up and raptors and t-rex all outside and bugs bunny and daffy duck statues that were taller then the building. To put it in Caitty's words...cool. Next time we will have to go in to see all the other stuff. And if it isn't to cold I will let Caitty stand out there for a picture or two. I will let her go sit in the Jeep filled with crocodiles. And yes poor Daffy has icicles coming off his beak it was that cold.

The Christmas Bear

We got a package from the Walks the other day containing Christmas gifts for every one and this bear for Caitty. Well we were trying to get every thing out and put away before Caitty saw but didn't succeed. Caitty saw the bear and has taken to it. He reads her the night before Christmas, the whole book, and his mouth moves as he does it. I am waiting for her to start saying it back to him. He doesn't turn off until Caitty is in bed and every stuffed animal has been brought out into the living room to hear the story. It is funny to watch her with it. It is even more funny when her and shadow get into it because he doesn't really like the bear. He would rather eat it then play with it and Caitty is protective of it. I got in trouble for moving it last night.

Swimming in Casper

My loving little Caitty loves the water, and in her opinion the colder the better. Well I have been worried about her getting into trouble sense they wouldn't let her take swimming lessons. I make her wear the water wings but I still worry sense they aren't really that big and any thing can happen in the water. The last time that we went swimming was when Kaci was blessed and I spent most of the time trying to tell her to go to her back if she feels like she is in trouble. It has been a long time sense then so I thought that she would of forgot and been all clingy to Joel.

I got Joel and Caitty ready for the pool and told them that I would be down when Kaci woke up from her nap. After a while I got to wondering how things were doing so I went down to the pool with the camera to find that Caitty was in this big pool all by her self with her Daddy talking to her while he was in the hot tub. I nearly had a heart attack but Joel told me to watch her so I did. She would swim the dogie paddle for a while and then flip on her back for a rest and did this for over an hour. Needless to say we are still taken swimming lessons for my hearts safety. But I was very proud of her. Little stinker. :)

And yes eventually Kaci and I joined in on the fun. We learned however that Kaci really doesn't like the pool. It is too cold for now.

Sick

So Caitty and Kaci have both been sick the last couple of weeks and are finally feeling good. Having sick children is definitely no fun at all. But Caitty started feeling better before Kaci so she would rub her head or hum to her if I wasn't in the room and Kaci was crying. Maybe I should leave more often...hehe.

Santa

So we went to Casper this week and went to the mall to see if Caitty would be willing to see or get near Santa. She has been watching alot of Santa cartoons so I thought that I would give it a try sense she likes him on TV. Well of course it became a "NO" screaming fit when she saw him so we continued on with our shopping and found a Santa statue at Sportsman's Warehouse. So I took a picture of her and Daddy. She was still a little worried about him but it was much better with Daddy there. This statue was much better looking in real life.

Forgot the Camera.

Well of course on a fun outing what do I..... I leave the house with out a camera. Go figure. At least I remembered Caitty!!!

Tuesday Caitty and I went to our friends home, Kyla Erickson, and made sugar cookies with her and her two wonderful kids and the Degraw family and Witlock Family (Kaci got to stay home with Dad and have Daddy daughter time). It was a lot of fun. Caitty mostly played and ate the cookie dough but she really enjoyed hanging out with all the kids that are around her age.

The funny part was once we had the cookies made and they were getting ready to decorate Caitty decided to join in more this time. Keep in mind she has already ate the cookie dough which I didn't want her to do because she had been really sick for two days. As most of the kids were starting to icing the cookies Caitty would take the icing off the cookies and then icing them again only to continue to pick off the icing and the sprinkles that she put on. So we took the cookies home for Dad to eat sense she had eating way to much frosting.

And now next week after her Dr appointment we get to make cookies at home with Daddy. Hopefully I will make enough frosting and remember to use the camera.

Decorating the Tree.

Well Of course as soon ans it hits December 1 Joel is ready to have the tree up. I would like to wait longer just cause Caitty has to much fun pulling off the ornaments and redecorating the tree every day and they always seem to end up on one side of the tree. Needless to say that for FHE on the 1 we got the tree up and Caitty was way happy. But I learned from last year not to put the presents out untill Christmas eve so I don't have to re-wrap and tell Caitty no all the time cause on Christmas she will sit there with a gift for a while waiting for you to tell her no. Poor thing.

blessings

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone in the blink of the eye. I can't believe it is December all ready. With the leaving of Thanksgiving it came clear to our family how truely blessed we are in so many ways. We have been blessed above and beyond any thing we can imagine let alone list in a small peice of paper. The biggest blessings that we can think of is our families, our friends and our lovely girls with good health. It is quite hard though during the holiday season to be so far away from all our family members but it is a great confort to know that no matter what we have the greatest blessing of all to be a family together through all eternity. How amazing is that? There are so many around us that don't understand that concept. We hope every one had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great Christmas.

My ear

Well Shadow has now learned that he can't hang out around Kaci with out getting hair pulled. He was at first looking for food from her hands but he soon realized that she didn't have any thing so he laid down by her and was rudely awoken to her grabbing and pulling on his ear. Not only did he just take it but she did this a couple of times before he moved on to see that Caitty was eating bread and hoped to get some away from her. What a dog. Kaci enjoyed this little game though for some time.

Spices

So I am always wondering why I run out of pepper so fast. Well the other day Caitty showed me why we buy a lot of pepper. She also likes to dump out flower, floor powder and baby rice cereal and powder. She is getting to good at opening any type of container. Smart one.

Caitty...

Here is Caitty's oppinion on polotics and other worldly questions ready....

Dog door.

Dog door, I am not quite sure why we have one other then it came with the house and you would have to get a new door in general which I wouldn't mind, but we are finding out that it is a great for keeping Caitty and Shadow busy.

Caitty has also learned how to pull off the thing that blocks the dog door to keep the dog and wind out so now she can escape when ever she feels like it.

One of her preschool teachers husband had parked in the parking lot by the house and was just having a good-ol laugh at Caitty as she kept going in and out of the dog door. He thought that it was very inventive.

Answering Machine

How would of thought that an Answering Machine would be so funny?

Halloween

Well Halloween was a lot more fun this year we did trunk-or-treat in Fruitland. Caitty caught on to the concept that when you go to the trunks of the cars and smile people give you candy and tell you how cute you look. What person doesn't like a nice comment? Any way Pappa and Grandma Walk joined us in the crowed and Kaci mostly slept through the whole thing in the back of the trunk of the car. She was dressed in a bear costume that later was said to be a mouse costume from the three blind mice sense it was missing a tail. :)

At one of the trunks a family was passing out helium filled balloons, which Caitty loves balloons it doesn't matter what color. And they gave her a yellow one and she was playing with it, it had been tied to her wrist, and really having a good old time with this balloon then all of a sudden you just here this blood curdling yell coming from her and you look at her and she is just screaming "No!!!" and pointing at the balloon that was floating off. It was so bad. She was crushed. This little girl tried to give Caitty her balloon to have her stop crying. But Uncle Kevin was nice enough to give up his balloon to her. But she wasn't happy with just one any more she kept on trying to grab the kids blue balloon that was tied to his truck so he thought he could find her off with candy which she just kept giving back until he gave her the balloon. We then tied the balloons to her out fit and the world was right again. It is amazing what a balloon or two will solve for you.

Caitty made it home with most of her candy after her mommy took out the gum and is slowly working on it. Some days she remembers it is there and then there are other days were she could care less and is still trying to eat 4 apples a day from Grandma Netty's and Grandpa Craig's. Crazy kid. And I thought that you took kids trick-or-treating so the parents got the candy what a bummer when they don't share.

Hanging out withe the Culvers

It is always nice when we go home that we get to see both sides of the family. We got t o see Courtney most likely for the last time for a while sense in January she will be off to school in Rexburg. Poor Kevin will be all alone with Hank. Hank is Kevin's dog. Any way it was nice to see her and Ty when he could come home form going to BSU. I think though next year we will have to use Courtneys Halloween costume idea. She suggested that we have Caitlyn as a curly fry Kaci as a tater tot and Hunter (Caittys friend when we go home) as a crinkle fry and she can go as the Orida princess sense that is were she is working at the moment but how cute would that be?! It is sad to think of how long of a drive it is to go see family and around this time of the year every one likes to be closer. But the girls got to enjoy some spoiling with Grandma Netty and Grandpa Craig. And hopefully we will be able to see them sooner then later. Ya never know any more.

Carving Pumpkins

What is Halloween like with out the pumpkins? Well Caitty is still a little to young to carve a pumpkin but she got to color all over it using markers back in Fruitland. She loved it and Courtney and Kevin were having a fun time with theirs. Courtney has two sides, one side is a "pocket full of sunshine" just for Ty and the other is a face. And Kevin carved his own face. Joel went all out and carved a wolf crying at the moon. Not bad but he has a lot of patients for stuff like that.
Before we left we painted to ones that we had. She love to color and paint on them and it is so funny to watch her try to cover every little spot. And boy does she not like it when you add stuff to her pumpkin and trust me they are all hers.

The picture above were taken in Worland just before we left. Her preschool teacher dropped off two pumpkins just for her. I wanted to paint a face on this one and Caitty decided it wasn't good enough so she painted over it for me. She is a much better artist then me so it works out just fine. :)

Hanging with the Walks

The best thing about going and seeing family is watching the girls getting to know every one. We got to meet Uncle Doug from the first time and Kaci meet Aunt Jessica for the first time so there was lots of first.
Caitty learned how to help her self to brownies even when mommy said no. And she also learned how to open the door and let in the dogs when no one wanted them in at the moment. She found the piano for the first time and it always seems to surprise me on how much she likes to play with pianos. She learned a little about how to climb on a TV tray, the proper way of how to feed fish (NO Oreo's) , and that Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jessica will let you eat off their plate. She still loves Pappa and Grandma's fans. She thinks there great. It was fun to watch her play in front of them. She also got to walk on the tread mill with Pappa, unfortunately she didn't learn how to keep up she just wanted to go off the edge.
